French / English Glossary of Linguistic Terms

History

In 1972, a glossary with 2300 entries was published by Thomas Bearth. As the years passed, this glossary needed to be updated with new linguistic terminology. Thomas Bearth added several thousand terms over these years. Several other people helped out with the glossary by adding new terms and helping find English equivalents for the terms already in the glossary. Charles Fennig became involved in this project on a half-time basis in January 1997. Since then, he has been doing research on all the existing terms and has added hundreds of new terms. He will continue in this role until all the terms have been adequately researched. The names of others who have contributed significantly to this glossary are listed on the Acknowledgements page.
